Press / Reviews

VÆSEN EP 2025: The band explores more metal sounds in “Dødt Træ,” a powerful track steeped in doom sounds, gloomy atmospheres and thought-provoking riffs with a granitic rhythm section. The vocals alternate between aggressive and softer passages, always with that dark touch that also characterises the sound. In a continuous interweaving of vocal and instrumental parts, between heavier passages and more dilated openings, the track flows, enveloping the listener and leading him to explore the dark sounds of the band."” - Jacopo Vigezzi

Progressive Rock Journal

(4.5 / 5) DEBUT ALBUM 2023: Tidejord has spent three years creating the album, and you can definitely sense it in the rich attention to detail. They have a strong grasp of genre blending, which feels highly deliberate and well thought out. The transitions between different expressions feel natural, not like a demonstration of how many genres they are familiar with. It’s doom rock with inspiration from Huldre, Alice in Chains, Leprous, Animal Alpha, and EYES, among others, wrapped in a modern synth universe that gives the music a distinctive character that is hard to describe. It must be heard! (Translated from Danish)” - Martin Thaning Petersen

ROCKZEIT

(Score 80/100) The latest release from this Danish quintet is a lurching, melodic collection of four songs. Doom and alternative metal flavors are prominent, and the songwriting is dynamic and fluid. Each track on this EP is meant to represent a different creature, and accordingly, each cut has a unique feel to it.” - The Elite Extremophile
(6/6) After several listens, I have to say that new things keep emerging in these songs. That’s a good sign of music with lasting quality. You can check them out on Bandcamp and YouTube — which I did myself. To be honest, I haven’t heard anything quite like this before with Danish lyrics. They’re clearly putting in a huge effort to make an impression. I really hope they hit a stage near Randers and go all in. They must be amazing live. It gets 6 out of 6 because it truly grabs you and is really well put together. If you're into Danish bands with Danish lyrics, check them out.(translated from Danish)” - Jacob Jørgensen
